What is a barista course?

The word barista comes from Italian and roughly means bartender. A barista's job is the professional preparation of coffee in a bar or café. In a barista course, a real barista shows you how to prepare the perfect coffee professionally, including the different coffee specialities. By the end, you'll be able to make really good coffee at home too.

What do you learn in a barista course?

In the course you'll learn to operate a portafilter machine, everything about the coffee bean and its origin, different coffee specialities, correct grinding and tamping, and how to clean the machine. With latte art you'll learn to froth milk perfectly and pour unique designs like a heart, a leaf or a swan onto your coffee.

What types of barista courses are there?

Beyond the classic barista course that takes you from bean to finished drink, there are specialised formats: a coffee roasting workshop, a coffee tasting to sample different varieties, a dedicated latte art class, and a filter coffee workshop covering different brewing methods.
