About this class
In this workshop, everything starts with paint: You paint your motif with high-quality acrylic paints on a covered stretcher frame (30 × 40 cm). Step by step, the basis of your work of art is created — colorful, lively or completely reduced, just the way it suits you.
In the second part, the Punch Needle is added. With the special needle, you work fluffy structures and details directly into the fabric. The interplay of painting and texture creates a modern mixed-media image with depth and expressiveness.
You don't need any previous knowledge — we'll be with you every step of the way, from motif transfer to painting to fine-tuning with wool and punch needle. In the end, you take home your own work of art that combines both: the luminosity of acrylic paints and the unique feel of the punch needle.

What you’ll do in the class
After a short greeting, choose your design and transfer it to the stretcher. First, it's time to paint: With acrylic paints, you can design the surfaces, contrasts or fine details according to your taste.
In the second part, you will dive into the technique of punch needling. With the special needle, you work fluffy structures and vivid details into the fabric step by step. In doing so, you will learn various stitch techniques and implement your motif with depth and texture.
Finally, we do the finishing touches: shorten the threads, coordinate the colors, add the finishing touches. In the end, you're holding your own work of art — a special combination of painting and texture.
