About this class

Dive into the world of ceramics and enjoy a creative flow in our light-filled studio on the studio floor on the 4th floor. In this inspiring environment, surrounded by art and natural daylight, you create your own ceramic objects using construction technology. Working with sound has a grounding effect and gives you a real break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Under professional guidance from an experienced artist, you will learn techniques such as thumb, bead and relief techniques step by step. The special thing: There is no limit to what you want to make pottery. Whether bowls, candlesticks or pearls — you are free to design as your creativity allows. Use our clay stamps for texts or engraving tools to give your ceramic a very personal touch.

For the perfect finish, you can optionally choose from a wide range of high-quality engobe and stoneware glazes, with which you can artistically paint your works directly on site.

What you’ll do in the class

  • After being greeted in front of the entrance, we take the lift together to the studio floor on the 4th floor.
  • Since you can only enter the building with a transponder, we ask you to arrive punctually.
  • After a short introduction, we dive into the various construction techniques — thumb technique and bead technique. We test the techniques and produce ceramic pieces.
  • If you are planning individual projects, such as pearls or candle holders, we will show you examples and guide you. Here, you work completely freely and realize your ideas at your own pace — we support you exactly where you need us.

We offer you maximum flexibility for your finished unique pieces. You can decide directly in the studio how to proceed with your works:

  • Take your pieces straight home in their raw state.
  • Or opt for our professional engobe paints and glazes (add-ons) in the studio: The scrub fire (bisquet fire) strengthens your works, and the subsequent glaze firing ensures that your works not only shine beautifully, but also become waterproof and food safe.

Your burnt treasures will be ready after approx. 3—6 weeks. You can pick them up from us or we can optionally ship them directly to your home.

After the first email with a collection date, please pick up your works no later than 2 weeks later. For reasons of space, we are unable to store the works permanently.

From time to time, our studio dog is there — a very lovely golden retriever lady.

Who is the class suitable for?

The course is perfect for beginners and advanced students who want to work in an artist's studio in a creative atmosphere and dive into the world of pottery in a relaxed environment. In our studio floor on the 4th floor, large window fronts create an inspiring environment with plenty of natural daylight.

No previous experience is necessary — everyone is welcome to experiment with sound and discover their own creative style. Advanced students are also welcome to implement projects and deepen their experience with sound.

Shared experiences:
Whether it's a team event, birthday, hen party, children's birthday party or workshop for young people — we are happy to offer individual appointments to create unforgettable experiences together. Just talk to us — we're looking forward to getting creative with you.

The course instructor was a very warm and open artist who gave clear instructions and helped you to implement your own projects. They had enough material as accessories and also finished pieces of clay from other participants as a source of inspiration. The studio was incredibly cozy and invited people to be creative. It's a really great experience. I can only recommend that.

Funda is a very welcoming host who has familiarized us with the most important techniques. After that, we were able to try things out right away and created beautiful bowls, cups and our own creations. It was a very nice, interesting afternoon, which unfortunately passed much too quickly. The coffee tastes great too:)
