About this class
Dive into the world of ceramics in the light-filled artist's studio. In this inspiring environment, you can design your own ceramic objects using construction technology and have the opportunity to also paint your pieces with engobe glazes.
Working with sound is relaxing, grounding and giving you a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by art, color and form, you will experience a creative flow in which you arrive at the moment.
In this pottery course, you create your own ceramic objects and learn various construction techniques. Optionally, you can use the engobe technique to paint your pieces yourself.
From thumb technique to bead technique, we test the techniques together step by step and produce ceramic pieces. If you want, you can use creative texture and surface methods. You can freely implement your projects and ideas during the course, and we will support you in doing so. From candle holders to ceramic beads, everything is possible.
Clay-building techniques impress with the beauty of imperfection.
Each hand-made ceramic is unique, and it is precisely these irregularities that make it so beautiful.
The course is led by an experienced artist who studied fine arts in England and has obtained her diploma and master's degree at the University of Arts.
Course content:
- Introduction to various hand building techniques: thumb and bead technique, relief technique
- Individual instructions for implementing your own ideas
- On request: use of texture and surface methods
- Many ideas and examples of ceramic works that we will show you on site and serve as inspiration
- We support your individual projects
- Sound stamps are available on site so that you can stamp texts and names
- Tools for engraving are available
What you’ll do in the class
How does the course work?
- After being greeted in front of the entrance and the main entrance door, we take the lift together to the studio floor on the 4th floor.
- Since you can only enter the building with a transponder, we ask you to arrive punctually.
- After a brief introduction, this pottery course gives us an insight into the various construction techniques (thumb technique & bead technique). We test the techniques and produce ceramic pieces.
- If you have individual projects, such as pearls or candle holders, we will guide you and show you examples of local ceramic works.
Optionally, you can burn and glaze your pottery:
Scrubbing fire, also known as cookie brandy, allows ceramics to solidify.
In addition, we offer the engobe technique, where you can use engobe glazes to paint your finished clay works directly on site.
We will fire them twice for you after the engobe glaze and then process them with transparent glaze after the biscuit brand/scrub fire.
This also makes your ceramics food safe/waterproof & beautifully shiny.
You can decide this on the spot.
After about 3-5 weeks, your pottery will be fired and glazed twice.
Please pick up your works after the first email with a collection date no later than 2 weeks later. Due to lack of space, we cannot store everything for everyone for a very long time.
On request, we will find an individual pick-up date and a solution for you.
From time to time, our studio dog is there, a very lovely golden retriever lady:)

Here are some products you can add to your event
