What is a bottle garden?
Do you love plants but don't have a green thumb? Would you like a mini garden as decoration for your home? Then our bottle garden workshop is just the thing for you!
A bottle garden, also known as a “hermetosphere” or bottle biotope, are closed mini ecosystems in which you do not have to intervene to supply. A natural cycle is created so that suitable plants are automatically supplied with the nutrients that are important to them.
The mini garden lasts a very long time and is extremely decorative as a furnishing element.
What happens at the bottle garden workshop in Cologne?
In the bottle garden workshop, we create such a small biotope together in a cozy atmosphere. We will show you which layers of rock and earth are important, how they complement each other and what you should pay attention to when doing so.
Selecting the appropriate plants is also very important. We provide you with several so that you can decide for yourself which should go into your individual bottle garden. As in our other workshops, the focus here is on your own creativity.
When we're done designing, you can take your own little biotope home and set it up at a location of your choice.

Details to remember
What to bring to the class
You don't need to bring anything with you. Please put on clothes that may get a bit dirty. You will then take your bottle garden home with you. If you're coming by car, make sure it's safe.
What is included in the class?
- A vessel with cork (height 24cm, diameter 22.5cm)
- Wide range of high-quality plants. Our “Basic” version contains two plants. You can opt for more plants on site for an additional charge.

- A drink of your choice (water, various spritzers and lemonades, a glass of prosecco/ sparkling wine with and without alcohol)
