About this class

In the intensive ceramic pottery course in Berlin, you will learn the most important hand building techniques such as thumb printing, beading and plate techniques. There are various shapes, tools and stamps available.

The course is aimed at beginners and advanced students who want to implement their creative ideas with sound. You will receive individual support for your projects and can try out different glazing techniques. Experience the diversity of sound as a material and develop your own works in a relaxed atmosphere.

What you’ll do in the class

  • Welcome and introduction to the material sound
  • Presentation of hand building techniques: thumb printing, beading and plate techniques
  • First appointment: thumb printing and beading technology, second appointment: plate technology, third appointment: continue working on your own projects using your favorite technique, last date: glaze
  • Individual project planning and implementation of your own ideas
  • Advanced support for more complex techniques and surface design
  • Try out different glazing techniques
  • Calculation of glaze firing costs (by weight)

What to bring to the class

  • Comfortable clothes that can get dirty
  • The shorter the nails are, the easier it is to make pottery. But we know many tricks to be able to work well even with long nails.

The HALLO KERAMIK Studio is located in Aufbau Haus am Moritzplatz in Berlin Kreuzberg. In front of the “Modulor” entrance, take the large staircase up to the city terrace, then diagonally opposite “Minimum” at the very back. Barrier-free access via 85D (1st floor lift).
