How to sew sustainably with Merchant & Mills cuts
Would you like to sew a special bag — robust, timeless and with sense? In this workshop, you will implement a high-quality bag project and learn the basics of sustainable sewing: You will consciously work with durable materials, reduce unnecessary consumption and use well-thought-out patterns that focus on quality rather than abundance.
You can choose from tried and tested cuts from Merchant & Mills — stylish, functional and clear in shape. You select your pattern in advance and book one, two or three appointments, depending on the size of the project.

When booking, please let me know which bag project you would like to sew. This is the only way I can prepare your cut and plan all necessary materials and adjustments in good time.

Prerequisite:
You should be able to handle your sewing machine safely. The course is suitable for beginners with basic knowledge as well as for advanced learners.

All patterns are available to you during the course. You can bring along fabrics or buy them on site (by arrangement).
What you’ll do in the class
You book one, two or three appointments — depending on which bag project you want to sew. Before the course starts, select your desired pattern from a list of Merchant & Mills patterns and let me know your selection. I'll prepare the cut for you so you can get started right away.
Depending on the cut, you will bring fabric, webbing, zippers or other materials to the course date. You will receive a detailed list of materials in advance. Alternatively, you can also purchase suitable materials in the course if you wish (please inquire in advance).
In the course, we work in a small, quiet group of a maximum of six people. You will receive a structured introduction to your project, learn about the special features of the chosen cut and will be guided step by step — regardless of whether you are just starting out or already have experience.
I provide the sewing machines, tools and inserts. If you want, you can bring your own machine — please indicate this when you register.
In the end, you'll take home a handmade, sturdy and stylish bag — and maybe you'll even want the next one!
