About this class

The free imperial city of Tremonia was the most important Hanseatic city in Westphalia in the Middle Ages.
Not only kings and counts have visited the large, magnificent city, but also citizens, traders, servants and crooks have also left their mark. Accompany the night watchman through the alleys of the city and hear his stories from the old days: about the patron Reinoldus, the Hanseatic merchant Klepping, life on the market square, about an attempted betrayal and about the traditional Westphalian dish that is still on everyone's lips today.

What you’ll do in the class

We'll meet in front of the Eagle Tower. From here, we accompany the night watchman, listen to his stories from the old days and travel with him through Dortmund's city center. The end point is the Propsteikirche churchyard.
