About this class
Would you like to forge your own ring and are curious how a piece of jewelry is made? Then our ring forging course in Karlsruhe is perfect for you! Here you will get an insight into goldsmithing and learn step by step how to make your own silver (band) ring under professional guidance. You will saw, bend, solder, latch and shape the surface (grinding, punching, or hammering). If you wish, you can also pick up a gemstone. There is a wide selection of gemstones available to you. Of course, you can also cut out and solder a motif (heart, flower, etc.).
What you’ll do in the class
In the first half of the course, we'll discuss what the ring should look like. You select the material and adjust it. At the end of the first day of the course, the goal is for your ring to be completely bent and soldered together. In the second half, we solder any settings, grab gemstones if necessary and clean the ring.
We take a 1 hour lunch break per course day - please spend it outside. There are numerous restaurants nearby (Thai, Italian, Turkish, Syrian and a few burger restaurants).
Who is the class suitable for?
For anyone who wants to experience how a piece of jewelry is made and/or for spending time with loved ones. There is no age limit, but an age of at least 15 years would be desirable.
