About this class

Many people feel immobile, tense or “tight” in everyday life — often not because the body can do too little, but because it is not moved in a variety of ways. Prolonged sitting, one-sided loads and stress leave their mark. In this course, you will get to know your body anew: not performance-oriented, but functionally, consciously and with the aim of moving more freely and stably again.

What to bring to the class

Please wear comfortable yoga/ sports clothes. If you want, you can bring your own mat, a towel, or something to drink. Otherwise, on the be yogi Campus, you will find everything you need for practice.

What is included in the class?

At be yogi Campus & Retreat, everything is prepared for you: We provide you with all yoga tools such as mats, blocks, straps, blankets and meditation cushions. You can also expect a warm cup of tea and time for your questions or a brief exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. You can simply arrive and enjoy.

What you’ll do in the class

In Mobility Yoga, Julia combines yoga with functional movement theory. You will learn how joints, muscles, fascia and breathing work together — and how mobility is not only passively stretched, but actively built and stabilized.

Each lesson is dedicated to a specific focus:

  • Lesson 1: Breathing, posture and spine
  • Lesson 2: Hip/pelvis and shoulder girdle
  • Lesson 3: Thoracic Spine
  • Lesson 4: Feet, ankles and knees
  • Lesson 5: Lower back and fascia net

The practice combines conscious mobilization, strengthening exercises, coordination and mindful movement.

The course takes place in a small group in the historic forester's lodge — quietly situated on the edge of the Hardtwald. The personal atmosphere with a maximum of eight participants creates space for individual questions, detailed research and a practice with a retreat character: concentrated, decelerated and at the same time suitable for everyday use.

Who is the class suitable for?

If you often feel tense, immobile or stiff and want to give your body more freedom of movement again, this course will help you build up new stability and lightness. Especially if you sit a lot, are strained on one side or suffer from typical tension patterns in your back, shoulders or hips, Mobility Yoga can help you understand your body better and move more consciously.

The course is suitable for all levels of experience — you don't need any special previous knowledge, just curiosity about movement and the willingness to become more aware of yourself.
