About this class
This two-day training combines in-depth anatomical and physiological knowledge with the practical experience of in-depth yoga practice. You learn how the body is structured, how it functions — and above all how yoga works on the skeleton, muscles, nervous system and internal processes. This creates understanding, aha moments and security: for your own practice, for your teaching or as a solid basis for future yoga training at be yogi.
What you’ll do in the class
Day 1: Anatomy - You dive deep into the structural foundations of the body:
- Skeletal system, major bones & joint types
- Important muscles for asanas
- Types of muscle contraction & functional relationships
- Anatomical safety in practice
This knowledge helps you to perform and teach asanas more consciously, precisely and in a more body-friendly way.
Day 2: Physiology - Here you understand how yoga works on the inside:
- nervous system, stress responses (fight/flight/freeze), polyvagal theory
- mind-body connection
- cardiovascular, endocrine and digestive systems
- Respiratory System, Respiratory Mechanics & Breath-Involved Muscles
You'll learn why yoga soothes, strengthens, regulates — and how you can use these effects in a targeted manner.
Who is the class suitable for?
For yoga teachers, experienced practitioners and anyone who would like to study yoga, body knowledge and self-practice more intensively. Also ideal as an introduction to yoga teacher training at be yogi. You don't need any previous knowledge of anatomy or physiology — just curiosity and joy in learning.
