About this class
In the introductory course “Turning on the potter's wheel”, I will show you the essential steps on the potter's wheel and provide you with intensive support during your first attempts to center, open and lift the workpiece. You'll learn a lot about using clay and tools.
What you’ll do in the class
After a brief introduction to the workshop, the materials and the most important tools, I'll show you how to prepare the clay for turning on the potter's wheel. I will then intensively accompany you on your first experiences with the potter's wheel. You get time to get a feel for the process. It's a great experience to focus on shooting right here and now. Your homemade vessels (cups, bowls, etc.) are fired by me after drying. You can decide whether you want to do the glazing yourself at another appointment or I will do it for you. After the glaze has been fired, your ceramic vessels are ready for collection. You can then either pick them up in person or I will send them to you by post if you wish.
Who is the class suitable for?
For interested young people and adults.
Details to remember
Farbiges aus Keramik
I've been making pottery since I was young and have attended many pottery courses since then. If you feel like living out your creativity, I will be happy to assist you with my experience. In a small group, you can learn and try out various basic techniques.
