About this class
In this three-hour flower workshop, you will dive with me into the fascinating world of floral art made from pressed plants. Together, we explore a centuries-old technique that combines science, art and craft — and translate it into personal work.
What you’ll do in the class
At the beginning, you'll get an introduction to the art of pressed plants: We'll talk about their story, surprising anecdotes and special personalities — such as Princess Grace of Monaco, who worked with pressed flowers herself. Or have you ever heard anything about Erzgebirge ikebana?
This is supplemented by basic botanical knowledge: Which plants are good for pressing? Which less? What do I have to consider when collecting and pressing plants?
Then it's time to practice: You create your own flower picture and a handmade greeting card from carefully pressed petals, which I provide to you. Beautiful music and petal tea create a harmonious atmosphere.
All materials are included in the price. Optionally, you can have your work framed in a glass frame on site (at an additional cost). You can also purchase a starter set for continuing to work at home.
Who is the class suitable for?
The workshop is just as suitable for beginners as it is for people with creative experience — the focus is on joy in doing, slowing down and using natural materials with respect.
