About this class
Dive into the creative world of woodcarving: In the beginners' course in Berlin‑Charlottenburg, you will carve your own spoon in just two evenings
Wood carving is an artistic process full of freedom, scope and discovery. It opens up new ways of designing — beyond speed and perfection. Working with lace and iron is an experience that takes time but retains its uniqueness. You write down your idea in wood, and it starts to “answer” it. A hand-carved piece always has a memory — and often the impetus for the next project.
What you’ll do in the class
All courses are structured in such a way that they take you step by step to work independently. They consist of preparation, introduction to protective aspects, woodworking, sharpening the tool and sanding/oiling your workpiece (if desired).
The material is included once, if you want to start a second workpiece, you can buy more wood locally. There is also a tea break to exchange ideas and relax your hands.
Who is the class suitable for?
The courses are aimed at beginners who have either never worked with wood before or only a little. Under instructions, you can create either a spoon or a pen holder. This mainly involves carving irons, but also knives. The courses take place in Berlin-Charlottenburg in a cozy shop with a workshop cellar. In small groups of just 2-3 participants, you will receive “tailor-made” support.
