Chinese ink painting is not just about illustration or reproduction. The painters' inner thoughts, wishes and hopes are reflected in the paintings. In this way, purely visually perceptible aspects merge with personal inner feelings. Classic and popular motifs here include flowers, birds, animals and landscapes. Through illustrative presentations and professional instructions, workshop participants are familiarized with the necessary utensils, basic strokes and classic motifs.
The series is expanded with my first own attempts in calligraphy, i.e. in the Chinese art of writing. Calligraphy gives the Chinese language a visually rich aesthetic. Try it out and get to know the first Chinese characters along the way.
Chinese painting is very different from the usual European visual art. Xieyi-style paintings are painted very quickly, but the feigned carelessness is in reality the transmission of a deep feeling that is expressed in every stroke. These paintings are full of symbolic images and feelings of the artist. According to the philosophy of Chinese painting, beauty and wisdom lie in simplicity. Techniques such as generalization, hyperbolization, and abstraction can therefore be seen in the image.
