Pretty Portal is a gallery for urban contemporary art in Düsseldorf and has existed for over 18 years. It was founded out of a passion for art forms that arise outside classical contexts — directly in urban areas, close to social issues and in exchange with the city.
The mission of Pretty Portal is to make urban art and contemporary art visible, understandable and tangible. In addition to exhibitions in the gallery, public space plays a central role. The Urban Art Walk is a consistent extension of this idea: not only to show art, but also to discover and classify it together and experience it in urban space.
The passion for urban art came from close collaboration with international artists and from observing how street art and urban art have established themselves as a serious art movement over the years — between subculture, art market and urban development.

The Urban Art Walk in Düsseldorf:
The Urban Art Walk is not a classic indoor location, but uses the city itself as a stage. The tour takes you through selected districts of Düsseldorf — in particular Friedrichstadt and Bilk — and turns public space into the largest gallery.
Along the route, murals, installations, paste-ups, sticker art and urban interventions are visited. The group size is deliberately kept manageable in order to enable exchange, questions and individual impressions. The tour is designed as a walking tour and covers a distance of approximately 3 kilometers.

The Urban Art Walk is not a classic city tour and not a tourist tour. He combines curatorial knowledge, scene knowledge and a personal view of urban art.
