Popi is a really welcoming and nice host. She immediately makes you feel comfortable with her and strikes the perfect balance between simply letting her do it and giving help/tips when she realizes that you are struggling. I highly recommend her and am already looking forward to the next course with her. Thanks again Popi! :)

The course is highly recommended. Alexia, our coach, is very friendly. There were two of us on site, both beginners with no previous experience, and we felt very well looked after and supported. On the day itself, we each designed a cup by hand and also had the opportunity to try out the wheel. The workshop was great fun and there was a feel-good atmosphere throughout. And looking back, we now have a good idea and expectations for the next steps in the pottery field. It was a successful taster course.

Get to know Popi Poterie

My name is Alexia, I am 29 years old and I am from Lille in the north of France. Currently based in Germany, in the charming city of Heidelberg, I create my ceramics at home.

Pottery has always held a great fascination for me, but it was only in 2021 that I really started taking classes and immersing myself in this world. I loved it right away, so much so that just six months after my first lesson, I bought my own potter's wheel so I could make pottery as much as possible. :) The manufacturing process is so fascinating, and the possibilities are endless: it's impossible to get tired of it!

I host the workshops in my apartment in Dossenheim, where I have a large space, a pottery wheel and a ceramic kiln.
It is important to me that the workshops are a pleasant and friendly time without judgment and in a good mood.
The workshops are in English because my level of German does not yet allow me to do so in German.

My values :

  • Authenticity: this is a key value for me. I create with spontaneity and passion. I have never felt so fulfilled since I started making pottery.
  • Sharing: teaching other people to make pottery, sharing my passion with them, that makes me happy. For now I host the workshops at my home. Later, I dream of having my own workshop, where I can open my doors and share my passion through workshops and courses.

Having your favorite cup or bowl, cherished and carefully maintained, whose shape and colors are unique and carefully chosen, will bring a little sunshine into your daily life.

I work with stoneware, it is the strongest clay, fired at high temperature. You can use your creations like your usual dishes, they can even go in the microwave and dishwasher.
