I am Kanika, an upcycling artist and designer with a passion for creating new, beautiful and useful products from supposed waste. My mission is to show how creative, valuable and fulfilling sustainable design can be — completely without perfectionism and with a lot of joy in doing it yourself.

My passion for upcycling came from my many years of work in the design sector and the desire to use materials more consciously. In my workshops, I combine handwork, creativity and sustainability and create a space in which adults can slow down, learn new things and create individual unique pieces.

My workshops take place at changing, inspiring locations in Frankfurt — for example in creative studios, cafés or second-hand environments. The locations offer a quiet, creative atmosphere and are equipped with large work tables, sufficient lighting and all necessary materials.

Depending on the workshop and location, 6 to 12 people can usually participate, ensuring personal attention and a relaxed workshop atmosphere.

My courses are aimed at adults and are deliberately designed to be beginner-friendly. The focus is on upcycling techniques such as:

Embroidery & stick upcycling

sustainable DIY gifts

Candle making in second-hand and vintage vessels

Hand sewing & macrame

Painting and painting thrifted wine and glasses

The combination of creativity, sustainability and deceleration is special: Each participant goes home with a unique piece of their own design and new ideas for a more conscious use of materials.

I offer individual team events, JGAs and private group workshops. The events are tailored to the group in terms of theme and content — from a creative after-work event to a sustainable team building experience.

My private events are special because they are not only creative but also meaningful: designing together, slowing down and creating something sustainable that lasts. All workshops are inclusive, stress-free and possible without previous knowledge.
