Get to know Evelyn Toomistu Lederhandschuhmanufaktur
As a graduate fashion, textile and leather designer B.A, art teacher M.A (Estonian Academy of Arts), I have been working for my own label as boss and leather product manager since 2001. A preference for leather gloves not only inspires me to constantly create new glove models, but also to solve design problems.
Through a passion for leather gloves and the will to pass on my knowledge to others, a book about glove history and leather glove manufacturing was created in 2011. Using photos, detailed instructions and patterns, it explains how to sew your own gloves. The book “Nahkinnaste valmistamine. Practical making of leather gloves” was part of my art education master thesis.
There is now also a revised 3.0 version of the book also available in German “Lederhandschuhe. History and production.” 2024 (Booy-Verlag).
And for those who prefer to be personally accompanied when making leather gloves, either in a private lesson or in a group, I am happy to provide advice and assistance.
As a guest lecturer, I am also always on the go to various universities.
