Bookbinding room

I am a trained bookbinder and work in our artisanal bookbinding shop in Kerpen. I discovered my passion for bookbinding as a child - I loved designing something with my own hands and finally holding a finished piece in my hand that I could look at with pride.

My mission is to bring the traditional bookbinding craft to life and to pass on my knowledge. In my workshops, people should not only work with their hands, but also understand what they are doing - including small aha moments, such as the question of why the book is actually called a book.

The workshops take place directly in our charming bookbinding workshop — a place where real craftsmanship is experienced. In small groups of up to 12 people (even more by appointment), this creates a personal, creative atmosphere in which everyone binds their own book.

What makes my workshops special is the combination of traditional crafts, creative design and knowledge. At the end, each participant not only takes home a self-made book, but also a new understanding of the medium book and its story.

In addition to open workshops, I also offer private events - such as hen parties, birthdays or special occasions. JGA's where every girlfriend brings the bride a special book that is close to her heart and that the bride should definitely read are particularly popular. These books are bound together to form a very special volume. This concept can be transferred to many other events and creates memorabilia with real emotional value.
