What can you expect in the two-day workshop: DIY belt bags at Luckenwald?

This is the 2-day workshop.

Together, we will create a belt bag from soft pocket leather like the one you see in the picture, with the belt right on. In this two-day course, we work according to a given pattern. You can make your favorite combination from many colors and leathers.

What do you learn in the workshop?

  • Handling and cutting the leather
  • Create a cutting template
  • Tools (rotary knife, perforated iron, drain knife, saddler & braiding needles, awl, folding bone, screw press...)
  • joining techniques (stitching, braiding, riveting)
  • Different braiding techniques to decorate the edges
  • Background and interesting facts about leather

What you’ll do in the class

Intensive course over 2 days

Let's sew a belt bag with an included belt, as you see in the second picture. In addition to hand stitching, the leather sewing machine is also used here.

We sew in zippers, stud, learn various closure techniques and finally decorate your work.

You can use all the techniques you have learned in a variety of ways later on for further leather work.
