About this class

Yoga has positive effects, among other things, on mobility, strengthening of the supporting muscles and on general well-being. Combined with meditation and relaxation, yoga also has a positive effect on stress-related symptoms, obesity or pain symptoms, such as back pain or migraine.

 

Yoga, for example, supports the thyroid gland in its work — and it can protect our body even better against toxins. Yoga can thus prevent organ malfunctions such as severe nervousness or insomnia. At the same time, yoga strengthens the heart, stimulates blood circulation and increases our ability to concentrate.

 

Yoga serves as a perfect balance for regular strength training so that the muscles remain elastic. Basic yoga exercises are automatically always included in my training sessions.

What you’ll do in the class

  1. Pranayama: Proper breathing is the key to combining different positions of fluids and maintaining strength and stability, even when it gets exhausting. The Ujjayi breathing technique is essential for Vinyasa Flow, in which you narrow the glottis as if you were breathing into a mirror while keeping your mouth closed. This is how you lengthen your breaths and create a sound that is similar to the sound of the ocean.
  2. Combines movement and breathing: Prolonged breathing makes it easier for you to breathe and move synchronously. In some sequences, such as Sun Salutations, you use one breath per pose and one breath per transition, without a break. In the same way, you also stay in one position a little longer in some places, for example when stretching.
  3. Dance-like sequence: Movement and breathing are at best so fluid that it seems like you're dancing through the sequence. The less you think, the more liquid and meditative it will feel.
