About this class

Pilates is a full body workout that is suitable for people of all ages. Concentrating on breathing and harmonious movements ensures a stable body center.

Pilates focuses on the core. During the exercises, your power center, the so-called “powerhouse”, is activated.

This includes the straight, oblique and transverse abdominal muscles as well as the pelvic floor and the deep-lying back muscles.

You train the deep muscles in the pelvis and around the waist — improving not only your posture but also your flexibility.

The pelvis and shoulder area can be rotated more freely against each other through regular Pilates training.

At the same time, your upper and lower body muscles are always working, making Pilates a strengthening full-body workout without straining the joints.

Starting from the core of the body, the entire body is brought into balance. The abdominal muscles in particular perform an important task. Because it protects the spine and internal organs like a natural corset. The back is strengthened and the joints are not excessively stressed.

 

What you’ll do in the class

  1. Flow: The main principle of Pilates training is the smooth execution of the movements.
  2. Concentration: Every movement is carried out consciously from start to finish; attention is focused entirely on your own body.
  3. Breathing: Conscious breathing activates the deep layers of the muscles and counteracts tension.
  4. Centering: Keeping the right body parts still at the right moment requires concentration and precision
  5. Control: In Pilates, the movements are carried out fluently and in a controlled manner at the same time.
  6. Precision: Each exercise has a clearly defined sequence with clear posture instructions. There's no cheating here.
