About this class
Have you always wanted to print your own graphics? Then this course is just the right thing for you. We get to know the tools and individual steps up to the finished linocut. In this course, we design stamps, small images and printed cards. No previous experience required.
But beware: printing can be addictive.
What you’ll do in the class
We will first learn about the history and technique of linocutting.
I will explain all tools and materials to you and give you important tips on how to use them.
This is followed by a first exercise to familiarise yourself with the material and get a feel for the cutting tool. The colors and printing process are also tried out directly.
Then it's time to come up with ideas for the linocut. We draw individual, simple motifs or select an image from a template. We transfer this drawing to the linoleum board and cut the motif into it.
With the printed image, we design postcards, invitations and envelopes.
As an additional option, you can carve your own little stamp.
Who is the class suitable for?
This course is for anyone who has never tried this creative technique or did a linocut for the last time in elementary school. Join the course if you want to get to know a new technology in a creative and cozy atmosphere — or are simply looking for a creative and relaxed break from everyday life.
