Welcome to the calligraphy workshop with illustrator Nina Heinke. We start autumn creatively and learn how to write with the oblique pen, which is known for its dynamic and sweeping strokes to create an elegant and appealing font. We also discuss various techniques for designing quotes and sayings to make them visually appealing. Regardless of whether you already have experience in calligraphy or are a beginner, the workshop offers a relaxed atmosphere for exchange and inspiration. Learn how to create beautiful fonts and take your creativity to the next level.
What you’ll do in the class
We do a short warm-up first. Then I'll inspire you with a few alphabets. You write yourself warmly with quotes and get your own pendulum. We'll write a few lines in ink before I introduce you to the gold ink technique.
You are welcome to bring along: your own pens or pen holders, pointed nibs, ink in black & your own sayings and quotes
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is for you if you want to expand and deepen your knowledge and skills in calligraphy. Are you interested in hand lettering, writing with an angled pen and old manuscripts? Would you like to refine your technique and develop your own style? Did writing with golden ink frustrate you rather than enjoy? I'll show you step by step how you'll succeed. You get to know and love the coil pen and take home some nice first calligraphies.

Even as a child, drawing was my passion. After graduating from the Berlin Technical Academy of Arts, I drew for the Morning Post and the Tip, and then my first children's book projects were added.
