Tuft your very own one-of-a-kind 80x80cm rug!
Rugburn Studio emphasizes using different types of tufting guns so that you leave with a rug made with unique dimensions and textures.
This beginner-friendly workshop offers three types of machines - tall fluffy stitches, lower punch needle stitches, and funky bigger loops - any combination, all together in one rug!
Don't know the difference yet? No problem! We start the workshop with a test run, so you get to learn each machine and develop your design based on your own personal preferences. No previous experience is required!
You will leave this workshop with confidence in operating the three types of machines, enough knowledge to create rugs independently, and experience to take an advanced tufting workshop.
What you’ll do in the class
You can choose to come with an exact design or with images, shapes or moods that inspire you - or no ideas at all! We will work in a casually structured environment so you are free to experiment and build your rug as you go.
The two-day workshops also give us plenty of time to trim, shave, and carve your rug. We can create designs with a bit more detail than single-day workshops, and still have time to master the finishing steps. We will end the workshop learning the backing process so you can take your rug home with you immediately. I am always available by email for design questions and advice.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is recommended for anyone 14 and older.
The workshop is taught in English but assistance in German can be given when needed.
