What you’ll do in the class
Course content:
Wedding Ceremony Basics:
- Introduction to the various types of wedding ceremonies (civil, religious, free marriage).
- Understanding the meaning and structure of a ceremony.
Speechwriting and structuring:
- Creative writing techniques.
- Development of an individual and authentic voice.
- Structuring a speech: structure, suspense, highlights and conclusion.
Rhetorical Skills:
- Basics of rhetoric.
- Use of voice, facial expressions and gestures.
- Dealing with nervousness and stage fright.
Personal and emotional preparation:
- Reflection on your own motivation and role as a wedding speaker.
- Empathetic listening and understanding of the bride and groom's wishes.
- Development of an authentic and sensitive presence.
Practical exercises and feedback:
- Write and give your own speeches.
- Simulated wedding ceremonies.
- Constructive feedback from Anne-Katrin Gering and other participants.
Organizational aspects:
- Planning and execution of wedding ceremonies.
- Cooperation with the newlyweds and other service providers.
- Dealing with unexpected situations and flexibility.
Marketing and business development:
- Tips for building your own brand as a wedding speaker.
- Strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Using social media and other marketing channels.
Drafting of contracts:
- Content, framework, fee
The course comprises 3 ONLINE modules from 6:30pm - approx. 9:30pm - as well as a face-to-face day in the bridal parlour in Remscheid-Lennep.
