Is your instagram full of tufting videos and you want to try it before investing a lot of money into this new hobby? (It happened to us, that’s how everything started.)
Are you bored of staring at your computer and would you rather create something soft and pretty in the old school analog way? (Aren’t we all?)
Are you already desperate about Christmas gifts? (Well, we certainly are…)
Our answer to all these questions is this rug making workshop.
This workshop is in collaboration with Tibor Horváth, we use his fruits and vegetables images as inspiration for our tufted rugs. You can create a soft version of his designs, or make your own plant based design. At the end you can bring home a 32x32 cm rug.
Of course, we want you to make the rug of your dreams, so if you just want to work on your own design, that's also supported by us.
How does this activity work?
The workshop will have two parts:
14. Dec. Saturday> 12.00-16.00. OR 16.00-20.00
1. design, tufting, glueing (around 4 hours on Saturday)
15. Dec. Sunday> 12.00-16.00. OR 16.00-20.00
2. backing and shaving the carpet (around 4 hours on Sunday)
You will learn how to put your drawing on a textile, how to use a tufting gun, and how to create the backing for your rug. At the end, you can bring home a small carpet (around 32x32 cm) with your own colorful graphics.

Who should definitely take part?
This workshop is beginner-friendly in every sense:
- you can learn the technique quickly, so even if you never had a tufting-gun in your hand, you will be able to create pretty things
- if you have a design in mind, we can help you to rug it, but if you don't we can help with making a lovely design
A tiny notice in advance: Working with the tufting gun can be a bit tiring for your hands and back, but it is such a satisfying feeling to draw with yarn, that hopefully you won't mind it the next day when you are looking at your rug at home.

If you have a design you want to make a rug of that makes the process faster, but if you don't that is also perfectly fine.
