About this class
Sound is an immediate and physical material — it reacts to pressure, rhythm, and touch. In this workshop, I work with plate technology (construction ceramics), a method that provides direct access to form, surface and structure.
As an artist, I convey sound not only as a craft, but as a creative medium that opens up space for experiment, memory and individual forms of expression. The format offers individuals or groups the opportunity to get to know this process in a concentrated session — also as a private creative event or team format.
What you’ll do in the class
- Introduction to materials, tools and basic techniques of working with clay plates
- Demonstration of cutting, joining, building and structuring
- Independent design of objects or vessels
- Individual artistic support throughout the process
Working with clay plates provides immediate control over form and area and at the same time invites experimental decisions.
The session is process-oriented, but the resulting pieces can still be fired:
5€ — Schrühbrand
10€ — Scrub burn + glaze + glaze burn
Collection of the finished work after approximately 2-3 weeks.
Who is the class suitable for?
- beginners without previous knowledge
- People interested in working artistically with material
- Group formats or creative events
- People who want to try out ceramic practice without long-term course commitment
