Dive into the fascinating world of plants and learn how to make hydrolates yourself with simple means in the heart of Cologne. In this unique workshop, you will learn everything about the art of distilling — without expensive distillery! Together, you distill aromatic plants such as lavender or rosemary in a cooking pot and then make your own aroma spray. The course is aimed at anyone who loves natural care products and wants to discover the soul of plants. Relaxed ambiance, in-depth knowledge and sensual scents included.
Important: During the course, we do not distill with the copper still. Distillation in a copper still is presented in theory, but the practice is done in a cooking pot because the subsequent purchase of a copper still would be very expensive.
What you’ll do in the class
- Welcome with a hydrolate-based drink
- Introduction to the world of distilling (history, technology, fields of application)
- Presentation of various distilleries and focus on the cooking pot method
- Practical pot distillation with lavender, rosemary or verbena (depending on the season)
- Preparation of an individual aroma spray (face, body or room spray)
- Knowledge about storage, use and cosmetic production with hydrolates
- Share snacks and refreshments in a relaxed atmosphere
