Archery course: What you will learn

In an archery course you first learn the safety rules and how to handle bow and arrows. Then you practise stance, draw, aiming and release; in beginner courses you shoot at different targets and play small games that improve accuracy. In intuitive archery you train focus and body awareness instead of using a sight.

Can adults learn archery? Yes, courses cater to beginners and advanced shooters, and many beginner courses require no prior experience. You can often learn the basics and land your first hits in a taster course of 1.5 to 2 hours. Shooting accurately and consistently takes several weeks to months of regular practice. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and tie back long hair.
