We are BeerTasting — the largest German-language beer review portal and the community behind the BeerTasting app. Thousands of beer lovers discover, rate and share new beers every day — and we bring this passion to the streets once a year. With the BeerTasting Challenge, we are turning beer culture into a real experience: out of the app, into the city.

Location

Your location? The whole city! At the BeerTasting Challenge Salzburg, the city center becomes a beer trail. More than 20 restaurants and stations are waiting for you — spread across the entire city area, explore on your own. No tight party tent smell, no fixed seat — you decide where you want to go. There is space for up to 2,000 participants.

The format

Forget boring beer festivals! At the BeerTasting Challenge, you'll taste beers from breweries all over Austria and Germany at over 20 stations — many come especially for this day and bring rarities that you won't find anywhere else. Equipped with a bracelet, hiking pin and 10 chips, you'll travel through the city, track your progress in the BeerTasting app and fight for the coveted metal sign in the Salzburg 2026 edition. 9 hours, 10 stations, one destination — are you there?

The BeerTasting Challenge is the ultimate group event! JGA, birthday party, company outing or simply an epic day with the crew — traveling through Salzburg together, discovering rare beers and competing against each other is simply legendary fun in a group.
