Experience an enjoyable wine beginners' seminar in Harz-Altenau as a group! In a relaxed atmosphere, you will dive into the world of wines together: from sensors to grape varieties to labeling. Taste 8 to 9 distinctive wines from renowned regions, accompanied by a fine cheese and charcuterie board. This seminar combines knowledge, taste and conviviality — ideal for groups of friends, associations or team events who want to experience something special together.
The following wine knowledge awaits you:
- Wine: What exactly is in it?
- Differences in viticulture and production for red, rosé and white wine
- Sensors - Basics of wine tasting: With all senses, we try and talk about appearance, smell and taste. We talk shop about our sensory impressions like the pros: dry, body, aromas, length and integrated wood!
- How do you recognize a high-quality wine?
- What does the wine label tell us about the wine?
- Which wines are “in”, which are “out”?
- We are talking about the use of the right glasses, drinking temperature and shelf life of the wine anyway!
- We clarify many wine terms such as: cuvé, decant vs. carafing, cool climate, natural wine, climate change, etc.
What you’ll do in the class
- Welcome with a high-quality sparkling wine
- Introduction to wine sensors & basic knowledge
- Guided tasting of 8 to 9 selected wines
- Cheese and charcuterie board for tasting
- Explanation of typical wine terms & wine storage tips
- Room for questions & joint exchange in a relaxed atmosphere
Who is the class suitable for?
For groups, teams, groups of friends or families who want to experience wine together, learn more about sensory technology and spend a convivial evening in the Harz Mountains.
For closed groups of 8 to 10 people.
Private groups (JGA, team event, private event) of 8 people or more are welcome to make an appointment request with their preferred date.
A bottle of wine is enough for a tasting for 8 people. Therefore, optimal group sizes can be divided by 8, i.e. 8/16/24/32... people. Of course, only 13 people can take part, then the rest of the wine will be taken home!
