About this class
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of plate technology and use them to design your own ceramic object. You will then work with colored engobes and discover the scafitto technique, which creates individual designs by carving lines and patterns.
You can experiment freely, develop your own motifs and create a very personal piece step by step. The focus is on creative experimentation, the joy of designing and a relaxed approach to ceramics — without any previous knowledge
What you’ll do in the class
First, you create your own ceramic piece using plate technology — don't worry, you don't need any previous knowledge, just want to try it out! You can then relax (dry) your work briefly while you select the colors. With colorful engobes, you bring color into play and the next step is really exciting: You carve patterns, lines or small works of art into the surface and create your very own scaffito look.
And the best part: Everything happens in a relaxed session of around two and a half hours — no need to burn! I then do the drying and glazing for you so that you can hold your finished unique piece in your hands after approx. 3-4 weeks.
