This wine hike combines pleasure, nature and mindfulness in a unique way. Start your personal journey of discovery through the Rheingau and experience how natural wines and landscape merge into a holistic experience. Equipped with a cooling backpack, four carefully selected wines and detailed route tips, you will embark on an individual hike through the vineyards around Oestrich-Winkel.
What makes this tour special: The wines come from the young, sustainable Prana winery, which was founded in 2021 by two career changers who met in Geisenheim. Your goal? To create wines with character and soul — from a deep connection to nature and with a fresh look at traditional viticulture. “Prana” — life energy — not only stands for the name, but also for the feeling that accompanies you on this tour.
Immerse yourself in an experience that appeals to all senses: You smell the scent of the vines, taste the terroir in every sip and enjoy magnificent panoramic views of castles, forests and the Rhine. Perfect for anyone who loves wine and longs for a special break.
Steps of the tour
Starting point: You pick up your packed cooling backpack directly from the Prana winery in Oestrich-Winkel.
Equipment: The backpack contains four chilled Prana wines (Pét Nat Riesling, Riesling dry, Pinot Noir Rosé, Riesling feinherb), four wine glasses, matching glass holders for hanging around the neck and a lovingly designed route flyer.
Route: The approximately 7-kilometer hike takes you through the picturesque slopes of the Rheingau — past vines, through forests and across fields.
Pleasure points: At designated panoramic spots, you'll take breaks, taste the wines and learn more about their origin and production.
Background information: QR codes or the flyer provide you with exciting information about the wines, the region and the philosophy of the winery.
Mindfulness & relaxation: Along the route, discover small impulses for mindful breaks — to pause, enjoy and take a deep breath.
Duration: The tour lasts between 2.5 and 4 hours, depending on the pace and picnic mood.
Objective: Back at the winery, you can end your tour in a relaxed way — perhaps with another drink in the courtyard.
