Class description
This tour could also be called the 'Berlin Highlights Tour. '
Following in the footsteps of the history of the Third Reich and the Cold War, this tour
starts at the Brandenburg Gate and ends at Checkpoint Charlie.
Along the way, many of Berlin's well-known — and also lesser-known — sights are visited. The tour roughly follows the course of the former Berlin Wall. It explains how the existence of the wall influenced the lives of affected areas of Berlin and which traces continue to shape the cityscape today.
Different periods of the city are addressed: from the creation of the first Brandenburg Gate to the Weimar Republic, the period of Nazi terror, division, reunification and the development of techno culture in the 1990s.
All of this in three hours? It definitely won't be boring!
Your guide: Klaus Wehner
