About this class

Discover Japanese patterns and colors and design your own Monyo wooden tray in Berlin. Monyo are traditional Japanese patterns that have appeared on textiles, ceramics, architecture, and eve…

What you’ll do in the class

After a brief welcome, you will explore Monyo, traditional Japanese patterns, and traditional Japanese colors. Then you will design your tray step by step:

Select a Monyo pattern and color combination
Sand and prepare the wooden elements
Color choice
Assemble the parts
Make final adjustments and apply bee wax as a coating

Finally, we pack your finished tray in a hand-dyed washi paper bag so that you can take it straight home.
