About this class
Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging, creates a deep connection with nature and promotes peace and concentration. In my ikebana courses, you will learn how to create unusual arrangements using special techniques. As a certified ikebana teacher from the Japanese Sogetsu School, I teach genuine Japanese floral art.
Ikebana workshop — The power of water
Water is origin, movement and silence at the same time. It flows, carries, reflects and connects — an element that plays a special role in Japanese ikebana art. In this workshop, we will focus on the silent presence of water and its creative power.
Ikebana goes beyond decorative arranging and follows clear design principles. Water is not only understood as a source of supply for plants, but is also deliberately used as part of the composition — through visible surfaces, reduced forms and a balanced relationship of space and line.
We are developing an arrangement that consciously integrates the focus on water. The interplay of asymmetry and balance creates a harmonious, contemporary ikebana in which emptiness, line and water surface intertwine.
In the workshop, you create your own work step by step, which focuses on the effect of water as a design element.
