Pottery class: Make your favorite ceramics
Perfectly shaped - beautiful things made by hand
Dive into the sensual and decelerating world of pottery. In this ceramics course in Leipzig, you will learn the easily accessible overmolding technique combined with the sgraphito technique — two techniques that will give you impressive results even as a beginner. The focus of this workshop is on sculpting and modelling: experience, create and enjoy the material clay with your own hands.
Enjoy relaxing and creative hours in which you not only create unique clay treasures, but also pamper your hands with a free scrub.
What you’ll do in the class
With my support, you will use the overmolding technique to form your first one or two plates, plates or bowls. Use colored engobes and the sgrafitto technique to give the surfaces your own creative expression: A layer of paint is applied to the leathery clay
. Patterns, lines or small motifs are then incised into the surface so that the underlying sound is visible again. This creates exciting contrasts, patterns and fine drawings on your ceramic.
After the scrub firing, I will do the transparent glazing and the second firing for you. After about three to four weeks, you can hold your favorite finished ceramic in your hands and take it home with you.

Who is the class suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to try out this great craft. No previous experience is required — anyone can join in and achieve impressive results. Children aged 12 and over are welcome to participate when accompanied by an adult.
