About this class
Pottery, chat, laugh — and finally hold a very personal mug in your hands: In this workshop, you will create your own Boobie Cup — a mug with breasts, stomach or a butt (or penis) in a light-filled artist studio and inspiring environment using hand-building technology.
Whether round or pointed, symmetrical or wild: You don't need any previous knowledge, just joy in designing and curiosity to do things together. In between, there is enough time for conversations, wine and to let off steam creatively.
Breathe deeply, leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life and find inner peace and balance with sound. We support your individual project and ensure a relaxed, empowering atmosphere.
Clay-building techniques impress with the beauty of imperfection.
Each hand-made ceramic is unique, and it is precisely these irregularities that make it so beautiful.
The course is led by an experienced artist who studied visual arts in England and has successfully completed her diploma and master's degree at the University of Arts in Berlin.
Course content:
- Introduction to various hand building techniques: beading technique, adhesive technique
- Individual instructions for implementing your own ideas
- On request: use of texture and surface methods
- We support your individual Booby cup projects
- Sound stamps are available on site so that you can stamp texts and names
- Tools for engraving are available
We offer certified red and white wines from Weingut Knöll & Vogel Bio. We are firmly convinced that enjoying Italian wines in environmentally friendly production and at the same time supporting bird protection projects in Germany benefits everyone.
What you’ll do in the class
- After being greeted in front of the entrance and the main entrance door, we take the lift together to the studio floor on the 4th floor.
- Since you can only enter the building with a transponder, we ask you to arrive punctually.
- After a brief introduction, this pottery course gives us an insight into beading and adhesive construction techniques. We test the techniques and make individual Booby cups.
Optionally, you can burn and glaze your pottery:
Scrubbing fire, also known as cookie brandy, allows ceramics to solidify.
In addition, we offer the engobe technique, where you can use engobe glazes to paint your finished clay works directly on site.
We will fire them twice for you after the engobe glaze and then process them with transparent glaze after the biscuit brand/scrub fire.
This also makes your ceramics food safe/waterproof & beautifully shiny.
You can decide this on the spot.
After about 3-5 weeks, your pottery will be fired and glazed twice.
Please pick up your works after the first email with a collection date no later than 2 weeks later. Due to lack of space, we cannot store everything for everyone for a very long time.
On request, we will find an individual pick-up date and a solution for you.
From time to time, our studio dog is there, a very lovely golden retriever lady:)
