What you’ll do in the class
- When you arrive at the drum school in Berlin, you will be warmly welcomed.
- Each participant is provided with a drum.
- We'll show you the basic percussion techniques: bass, tone, slap and batting techniques with sticks.
- This usually creates initial groove experiences and develops a sense of what happens when different basic rhythms are played simultaneously in the group and how they intertwine rhythmically. In addition, initial improvisation experiences can be gained.
- We're going to do some structural rhythm exercises.
- In keeping with the rhythms that are practiced with the drum, entire solo phrases are practiced with the group.
- By the end of the drum course, you should master the basics so that you can also learn to improvise with the drum if you are interested.
