About this class
In this ceramic workshop in Augsburg, you design your own work piece from scratch — from molding to the final glaze. The course takes place in two consecutive dates and gives you the opportunity to dive deep into the world of ceramics.
In the first session, you will shape your dream object using various hand building techniques and learn the basics of working with clay. After the scrubbing process, you return to the second session and glaze your work piece yourself. This is how you give your ceramic a very personal touch.
The result: an individual, durable ceramic piece that is waterproof, frost-resistant and dishwasher-safe. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced students and is offered in German or English.
What you’ll do in the class
- 1st appointment (approx. 3 hours):
- Welcome and introduction to the basics of pottery
- Output of 2 kg of clay
- Introduction to hand building techniques (without a potter's wheel)
- Shape your individual work piece
- Preparation for scrubbing
- Intermediate step:
- Scrub your work piece through the studio
- Scrub your work piece through the studio
- 2nd appointment (approx. 2 hours):
- Introduction to glazing techniques
- Independent glazing of your workpiece
- Preparation for the final fire
- Conclusion:
- Final burning through the studio
- Picking up your finished pottery
- All finished pieces are waterproof, frost-resistant and dishwasher-safe
