About this class
Make your own personal kitchen towel
Clay Resist Dye is a traditional dyeing technique in which a clay paste is applied to textile and then dyed in a natural indigo cake — one of the oldest plant dyes known for its deep blue color. The areas with clay paste remain bright. With various techniques, you can create patterns and contrasts. This makes each piece unique.
The workshop is led by textile and color designer Lena Huber and takes place at a pinch of salt. Lena has her studio in Rheinhessen, surrounded by nature. Fascinated by traditional crafts and always curious about materials, she uses various techniques to work with 100 percent natural materials such as plants, minerals or food waste. Most coloring materials come from the surrounding area.
The course takes place at a pinch of salt in Offenbach Nordend (15 minutes from Frankfurt).
