About this class
Immerse yourself in a cozy atmosphere and lovingly handcraft your very own unique terrazzo piece. In a relaxed atmosphere, we work with modern, environmentally friendly materials and a great selection of color pigments. With simple tips and tricks, we'll show you how to master the casting technique and how to reveal the colorful terrazzo flakes in your work of art by sanding later. While you get creative, finger food and drinks are ready for you. Enjoy time together with others, have fun trying things out and finally take home your homemade, stylish interior object.
What you’ll do in the class
1. Arrive & get to know
We warmly welcome you in a cozy atmosphere with a welcome drink to toast your creative break together. You will get an insight into the world of modern casting materials, get to know the various components and learn directly from us how to handle scales, pigments and shapes correctly. In doing so, we will give you initial creative impulses for your very personal design.
2. Your unique terrazzo piece is created
Then it becomes tangible: We support the casting process with helpful tips and show you our best tricks to prepare your personal color combinations for the trendy terrazzo look. In this way, we work together to ensure that your workpiece — from the colorful flake mixture to the clean cast — is exactly what you want it to be.
3. Curing, sanding & finishing
While your object hardens briefly, refreshments and finger food are ready for you before the most exciting part begins: demoulding. We'll show you how to use wet sanding to expose the trapped color pigments until the typical terrazzo pattern appears, and finally explain to you how to seal the surface so that your new favorite piece stays beautiful for a long time.
