About this class
Attention!
In addition to the basic course fee, I charge 3€ per gram of silver. How much silver you need for your ring depends on your ring size and the thickness of the material you choose.
What will you experience with me?
Enjoy a few hours of handwork in my living room in Berlin and make your first homemade silver ring (925 sterling silver).
I'll show you how to make a wonderful silver ring with a smooth, hammered or matte surface from a piece of raw material.
A few examples on my fingers show you your options.
What you’ll do in the class
In about 3 hours, I will guide you piece by piece to your ring luck. Since I have only set up two workstations in my living room, I am happy to have two to three participants taking turns at the workplaces. Don't worry, while two people are working, the third person won't be bored at all.
After we have found out your ring size for snacks and a cup of tea, the material is cut, worked with a file and then bent into shape.
Solder and a soldering iron come into play and at around 1000 degrees Celsius we solder your ring together.
Now it's time to fine-tune: with a hammer, the ring is brought into its perfect curve and then becomes ever more shiny with the right sharpener.
Depending on the desired surface, the ring is polished to a high gloss or finally given a hammer pattern or a matte finish.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is suitable for anyone who wants to be seduced into the world of goldsmithing for a day. Minimum age: 16 years
