About this class
How does a sewing machine work, how is the thread threaded? Which fabrics are suitable? Which stitches do I need for which purpose? How does a straight seam go?
In this sewing course for beginners, you will learn the basics of being able to sew a simple project yourself. At the end, you take home your first small project (a key chain, a storage bag or a pen roll by appointment).

What you’ll do in the class
- After the welcome and a brief introduction to the participants, we start with a bit of theory (but this is important and enables Espäter to succeed in his own projects).
- This is followed by sampling so that you can practice using the technology and get a straight seam.
- You then choose your project and the materials. This could be a pen roll, a key chain, a storage bag or sustainable makeup removal pads.
- During the course, you will receive support and help until you have your first self-sewn piece in your hands at the end of the course.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is suitable for pure beginners who have never sewn before or for people who can sew by hand and want to learn how to use a sewing machine (before they perhaps buy their own machine).
