About this class
In our two-day Mix & Clay workshop — pottery course at the turntable, you will discover the creative potential of combining different colored clay materials on the potter's wheel. By kneading and twisting several tones into each other, expressive or subtle marbled patterns are created, which are then finished with a shiny transparent glaze. This can create cups, plates, bowls, candle holders, small vases or free objects.
What you’ll do in the class
Day 1 — Turning
Choose from a palette of cream, black, terracotta, blue and apricot stoneware shades. Two or more colors are weighed, prepared and pre-kneaded. After a short demonstration, turn your desired shapes on the turntable.
Day 2 — Turning off
On this day, the pieces from the previous day are turned off, handled if necessary and marked with your individual Maker's Mark.
After the workshop, dry
your pieces for 7-10 days before they are pre-fired in a scrub fire, coated with a shiny transparent glaze and fired with glaze. Your finished ceramics are ready for collection 3—4 weeks after the end of the course.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is suitable for beginners as well as advanced learners.
Due to the small group size of max. 4 participants, individual support is possible and every person participating can be addressed.
