About this class
Dive into the colorful world of traditional Mexican popotillo art. In this creative workshop, you will learn a special craft technique in which small natural fibers are processed step by step into decorative pictures.
After a short introduction, I'll show you how to work with Popotillo and how the fibers are applied to the surface. You then design your own design on a prepared template in A5 format.
You can choose from several simple designs — such as a Mexican heart, a sun or a flower — or even create your own simple design. I will support you so that your design can be implemented well with the Popotillo technique.
The popotillo technique is a quiet and meditative craft. With a little patience and enthusiasm for creative work, you can create your own colorful work of art step by step.
At the end, your finished picture is sealed so that the natural fibers remain permanently fixed, and you can take your self-made popotillo picture home with you.
During the workshop, there will also be drinks and small snacks in a relaxed and creative atmosphere.
What you’ll do in the class
At the beginning of the workshop, we greet each other over a drink in a relaxed atmosphere and I give a brief introduction to the traditional Mexican popotillo technique.
I will then show you step by step how to prepare the natural fibers and apply them to the template. You can then choose one of the prepared motifs — such as a heart, a sun or a flower — or create your own simple design.
During the workshop, I work with the group and personally support you every step of the way so that your theme can be implemented well.
