About this class

Dive into a cozy, creative atmosphere and lovingly handcraft your very own Jesmonite decorative tray in this workshop.
In a small group, we provide you with the modern, environmentally friendly material and pigments. We will guide you with useful tricks and tips on materials science to achieve effects such as terrazzo or marble.
While you create your individual work of art, you enjoy finger food and drinks. This makes getting to know the other participants an all-round relaxing experience, during which you take home a unique, stylish interior object.

What you’ll do in the class

1. Welcome and introduction

The course starts in a relaxed atmosphere, where you are warmly welcomed. First, we'll give you an introduction to the world of Jesmonite, the environmentally friendly casting material. You will get to know the components (powder and liquid) and learn how to use the tools (scale, stirrers, pigments) correctly. Our expert is available to answer all your questions and gives you initial tips for designing samples.

2. Your decorative bowl is created step by step

Then it's time to get on with the creative craft. Under professional guidance, you will be guided step by step through the casting process. We'll show you the best techniques and tricks to achieve impressive effects such as marbling or the trendy terrazzo look. We support each participant individually to ensure that your personal decorative object is exactly as you imagine — from the perfect mix of colors to bubble-free casting into the mold.

3. Curing, Refining and Care

After watering, the short curing period of Jesmonite begins. Meanwhile, we enjoy finger food and drinks and exchange ideas comfortably. Your workpiece is then carefully demoulded. You'll learn how to sand the edges and how to make the surface water-repellent and more durable with a sealer.
The workshop is a perfect opportunity to use the time creatively, learn something new and talk comfortably with other participants.

Who is the class suitable for?

This course is ideal for anyone who is getting creative and looking for a leisurely pastime. Whether you want to do something good for yourself or create a unique, personal gift for someone special: Whether you are a beginner or advanced, you are cordially invited to create a very individual and unique decorative object out of Jesmonite in good company and get to know new people in the process. Create a stylish unique item for your home!
