The punk and happening scene has brought “the Ratingers”, as we Düsseldorfers affectionately call them, to everyone's lips. But it stands for so much more than that: It stands for departure and a very special sense of community and life.
Ratinger Straße is still more than just a synonym for the history of art and music: it is a way of life. In the immediate vicinity (Art Academy | Neubrückenstraße | Kunsthalle | Mutter-Ey-Str | Andreasstraße | Burgplatz) of a maximum radius of two kilometers was/is still shaped today by the artists of the Academy of Arts.
Steps of the tour
We meet in front of the entrance to the Düsseldorf Art Academy and walk through the individual historical stations around Ratinger Straße.
