Class description

Under professional guidance, we will build your individual SUP together in 3 days. You decide the shape and design!

My design is simple and brilliant! A laser cuts out the thin plywood sheets to form the desired interior shape. The resulting parts are put together to form a 3-D frame and glued together.

The outer skin can now be prepared and coated with the SUP skeleton.

In addition to this work, there are many small and larger steps to be done. In total, it takes about 60 hours of work before the SUP can be released into the water.

My construction method is a mix of strip construction and Stitch & Glue construction. Where it is technically possible, I refrain from using any types of plastics.

How does this activity work?

First, the parts of the skeleton are cut with a laser cutter and glued together to form a kind of skeleton.

The solid wood rails can now be attached. The side walls of the stand-up paddleboard will later stop at these surfaces. In addition, the plate parts are prepared for the outer skin and adjusted to the correct size. With screw clamps, the finished wooden decks and floor panels are now glued on.

Wood surfaces: poplar, okoume SUP with fin, handle, vent valve

Optional: (at an additional cost)

  • building a wooden paddle
  • a glass fiber reinforcement of the surface
  • paint surface

Who should definitely take part?

The workshop is ideal for people interested in crafts and SUP enthusiasts who want to create their own individual SUP.
